At Our Carbon Footprints we measure every aspect of our supply chain and one of the great benefits of consuming plant based products over meat is they have a much lower carbon footprint! After all, to grow our vegetables we need only sunlight and water and so the input is much lower than raising livestock. While we manufacture all of our products in Taiwan which is one of the most sophisticated plant based markets on earth, the shipping of these products to the UK by sea is very energy efficient and only requires 0.00271 kg of carbon per packet. For context your typical 227 g steak on the supermarket shelf produces 35.1 kg of carbon and a standard 30 g packet of biltong produces 9.3 kg of carbon. One packet of our carbon footprints biltong or jerky produces 0.1 kg of carbon in a 30 g packet. Most importantly, it tastes fantastic.
